First Descents was founded in 2000 by professional whitewater kayaker Brad Ludden. It is a week-long motivational kayak camp for young adults (age 15-22) who have or have had cancer. Professional athletes and speakers visit camp daily and speak to campers, as well as participate in camp activities. Camp is provided free of charge to campers.
