Be part of the Planet Cancer book

We're writing a book, and we want your help!

This book is going to be a print extension of the wisdom, support, and humor of the PC community, so we're asking for input from all of you. Try to think what YOU would've liked to have in a book when you were diagnosed and send that to us!

We’ll take anything from a one-liner to a few paragraphs, to a full essay or story. We're also interested in cartoons, drawings, wacky cancer photos (300 dpi), and other unique formats (format for drawings should be 600 dpi, b&w only).

Here are some suggestions to get the wheels spinning, but feel free to go in your own direction:

Tips for newbies on the Planet (e.g. how do you keep your spirits up? Critical questions for your doc? foods/activities that help or to avoid? fashion tips? dating? working? Exercise? Songs/albums/movies/books that help you cope and why

Unique and compelling details about your cancer experience (your diagnosis, your treatment, doctor/nurse stories, side effects solutions, adjusting to life post-treatment,)

Other anecdotes (what's the most idiotic thing someone has said or done? Coolest thing you would never have done before cancer? Hardest part and how you got through it?)

Thoughts/counsel about spirituality and death, maintaining strength, coping strategies, etc.

You know us. No story is too off-color and everything is fair game. Bring it on.

Please let us know how you'd like to be cited (for example: PC username, or first name/last initial, whatever). You can send a photo, too! Just make sure Its high-res so you won't look like the abominable snowman. We’d love to credit you but, if you would prefer, we can keep your comments anonymous.

We look forward to hearing from you!
